The simplest way to provide a third-party with access to the web files in a given directory is to set up an FTP account and to put website content access restrictions regarding your web hosting space. If you use the services of a web developer, for instance, they will not gain access to any other content or any sensitive info within your account. You can also set up multiple FTP accounts to run a number of sites created with a desktop web design app such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage – each site can be brought online and subsequently edited using an FTP account with access to its own domain name folder on the server. All these things will be possible on the condition that you are able to set up and administer your FTP accounts easily.
FTP Manager in Shared Hosting
Our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with each shared hosting package, will give you access to different features to manage your FTP accounts easily through the FTP Manager section. When you would like to set up a brand new account, to modify the password for an existing one or delete it entirely, it won’t take more than one click. As opposed to other Control Panels where you need to set up a brand new FTP account if you want to be given access to a separate directory, our FTP Manager will permit you to edit the access path for an active FTP account quite easily and you will be able to see the access paths for all the FTP accounts the moment you visit the FTP Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel. For your convenience, you can set up an account on your computer system by downloading and installing an auto-configuration file for a number of FTP client apps – Core FTP, FileZilla, CyberDuck. You can also sort the accounts in descending or ascending order on the basis of their usernames or access paths and find the one that you need easier and faster.
FTP Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our semi-dedicated server configurations are administered through the easy-to-work-with, tailor-made Hepsia Control Panel. One of its sections – the FTP Manager, is dedicated to managing your FTP accounts and anything associated with them, so you’ll be able to manage all the accounts quickly and seamlessly. It will take one single click of the mouse to create a brand-new FTP account, to delete an active one or simply to change its password. You can also see the full list of all your accounts in this section of the Control Panel and, for your convenience, you can arrange them in alphabetical order – descending or ascending, either by username or by their access path. Modifying the path for a particular account is also extremely easy – you’ll just need to click on it and pick the new directory in the pop-up that will appear, so you will not have to create a brand new FTP account if you simply wish to specify what web files an existing account can access. You can also make use of auto-config files for widely used FTP client programs like FileZilla and Core FTP.
